I became involved with FSR Underground my last semester at Fresno State. I noticed the information about Fresno State’s radio stations on a bulletin board, and reached out to FSR Underground through the website.  I got a response right away and was able to meet with station management to discuss student opportunities.  I knew right away that I wanted to become involved.

 

I enrolled in an internship class and served as FSR Undergrounds student Assistant Marketing and Public Relations Director.  As a student leader for FSR Underground, my involvement included a wide variety of experiences that I thoroughly enjoyed.  I served as an on-air co-host during fundraising campaigns, was voice talent for on-air promos that promoted student involvement, represented the radio station in media interviews, coordinated marketing and PR activities with other student leaders, conducted research to support marketing and fundraising efforts, created graphics and associated content for website and social media publication and more.

 

My internship at FSR Underground helped me develop many skills I will use in my future career.  I have new confidence in my abilities in leadership, task management, public speaking, research, collaboration, content publishing and more.

 

The only regret I have is that I didn’t get involved with the radio station earlier in my college journey.  It was an awesome experience, and I was given amazing opportunities.  I want to express my sincere appreciation to FSR Underground station management (Thanks, “Media Mom!”) for mentoring me and providing personalized experiences to support my future goals.
