March 1, 2026: Fresno State Student Health and Counseling Center
I’m glad I started using the Fresno State Student Health and Counseling Center my first semester on campus. If you haven’t yet, do not miss out on this resource, because it has been one of the biggest lifesavers for me! I've used their services for everything from a sprained ankle to annoying headaches. They saw me quick, patched me up, prescribed me meds...and I even got a lollipop!
Health Center services are available to students and are funded by student fees. They make it easy and affordable to get care when you need it, providing primary care for common illnesses and injuries, immunizations, lab work, and other routine medical needs. They also offer mental health counseling, nutrition and fitness support, and more. Whether you’re dealing with a cold, need a TB test, want to check in with a provider, or just need someone to talk to, help is available.
Also, you don’t have to have an appointment to take advantage of their over-the-counter pharmacy in the lobby with many items for purchase. You can find cold and flu relief, pregnancy tests, and contraceptives.
College life is super busy, and it’s easy to let your health fall to the bottom of your priority list. But staying healthy is one of the most important parts of being successful at Fresno State. (Your mind and body have to be in tip-top shape to deal with exams after all!)
Health issues don’t wait for good timing. Having access to on-campus care can save time, money, and stress. Don’t wait until you’re feeling overwhelmed or sick. Take a moment to learn about the services offered at the Student Health and Counseling Center so you’re prepared if you ever need them.
The Health Center is located on the south side of campus in the single-story red brick building between the dorms and the lab school. They offer weekday appointments from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (limited services from 12 – 1 p.m.). Students can schedule visits online or by phone at (559) 278-2734.
