February 15, 2026: Fresno State Amendola Family Student Cupboard

One of the resources on campus that I use often is the Amendola Family Student Cupboard. It is a free (yes, free!) nonprofit student cupboard. As part of the Fresno State Food Security Project, they offer a variety of stock that is donated and/or purchased from local vendors for Fresno State students.
The cupboard is located in the Industrial Technology building in room 144 - it’s right across the street from the P20 parking lot. Look for the one-story section of the building closest to Barstow and Jackson. They’re open at 11 a.m. Monday-Friday and close by 6 p.m. (4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Many Fresno State students struggle to pay the bills, and food can be expensive. Students also struggle with finding the time to pack a lunch or snack for school. (I personally know the struggle well.) The Student Cupboard is a resource to supplement your food supply or to just find a snack to get you through the day. The Student Cupboard also allows students to share food with their immediate family members, which ultimately supports the students themselves. This can be a great source of food not just for students on the go, but for their households as well.
The Student Cupboard offers all types of groceries on any given day. I’ve seen eggs, canned soup, prepackaged meals, produce and more. According to staff, students can take up to two produce items and one of anything else (unless told otherwise) per day. And as I mentioned before, they also have snacks available.
It's a common misconception that the Student Cupboard should only be used by students who are severely struggling with food insecurity. It definitely serves that population, but it was designed to help ALL Fresno State students. Drop by and see for yourself. And if you feel like paying it forward, you can always volunteer or donate to the cause.
The cupboard offers students a chance to volunteer to help their fellow students. This can be a great way for students who are looking for volunteer hours for a class or if they just want to lend a hand. If you can’t volunteer but you still want to support this organization, students are always welcome to donate directly to the cupboard.
The Amendola Family Student Cupboard serves all Fresno State students, so check it out! The cupboard was established and is maintained by campus and community advocates to make our lives easier, so stop by and take advantage of the benefits.
